It was my 22nd birthday on Wednesday 8th and my boyfriend had booked a night away in Newcastle to celebrate. He picked me up from work on Tuesday night and drove me up to The Vermont Hotel, which is right in the centre of the city. The Vermont is a very grand looking hotel, it’s a big old sandstone building with its own posh cars parked outside. Inside though, its very modern looking, I thought it looked like a Shabby Store showroom, which I absolutely love!
We checked in and went to our room to get ready before we made our way over to Babuchos restaurant. I loved the décor inside this restaurant; it was very cosy with little fairy lights everywhere, which also made it very classy. For starters I had ‘oven roasted kind prawns with chilli & garlic butter on Tuscan bread’ and Mitch had the calamari. Both dishes were amazing; we both absolutely love seafood and eat a lot of it and were very impressed. We both chose the fillet steak for main, main rare and his blue, we also both swapped the chips for sweet potato fries and were so glad we did. A definite must have if you ever go there!I wore a black lace bodysuit which I got from a small boutique where I live, with New Look jeans, Christian Louboutin heels and a Balenciaga bag. I also wore a brown leather jacket over the top as it was a bit chilly outside. After dinner we wandered over to the bar area for a cocktail before we crossed the road to a bar called Livello. It is attached to The Vermont so he didn’t have far to walk home, which was good news for me as stilettos and porn star martinis don’t mix very well. With it being a Tuesday night places shut fairly early, but The Vermont has a 24 hour bar so we found a comfy seat by the roaring fire and spent the rest of the night (and morning) chatting away and laughing together. We woke up on Wednesday morning, I opened my presents and we made our way down for breakfast. We spent the rest of the day shopping in Eldon square and The Metro centre. I will do a post on what I got soon as I don’t want this to get too long, but thank you for reading so far and please feel free to comment below if you have any feedback or requests for other posts.
