Current Skincare Routine

I’ve had a few messages and comments lately on what foundation I’ve been using. I haven’t changed my foundation and I’m still using Mac Studio Fix, however I think as the condition of my skin is improving it’s showing in my makeup. It may be the so called glow you can get during pregnancy but ever since I started a new skincare routine last month I’ve started getting more compliments and comments on my skin.

So here is what I do every single day…

Mornings

I wash my face with Simple Foaming Cleanser or Simple Refreshing Facial Wash Gel. There’s no routine with these, I just use whichever I pick up first although I tend to go for the foaming cleanser.

Then I apply Clearasil Ultra Rapid Deep Pore Treatment Toner with a cotton pad. This can sting a little if you have sensitive skin but I love how tight it makes my skin feel.

Next I use a few drops of this BodyShop Drops of Youth Concentrate and rub that all in my face and down my neck. You only need a little of this and it goes a long way.

Lastly I have been using this BodyShop Vitamin E Moisture Cream all over my face and neck again. I sound like I am a BodyShop ambassador or something but I got all these products in my BodyShop advent calendar and I’ve found the results to be amazing.

Evenings

Exactly the same as in the mornings but I remove all my makeup first with some Micellar water and a cotton pad.

Then I use the Vitamin E Nourishing Night Cream, which is a lot richer and heavier than the moisture cream. I feel like I go to bed glowing!

Weekly

Once or twice a week I like to do a deep cleansing face mask to really clean out my pores. In my advent calendar I got a Japanese Matcha Tea Pollution Clearing Mask. It exfoliates your skin as you apply in and pulls out any impurities or dirt you may have clogged in your pores. It’s really gentle too so you could use it more than once a week if you like and I don’t think it would dry your skin out.japanese-matcha-tea-pollution-clearing-mask-7-640x640

Extra Bits

Since I’m pregnant I haven’t been drinking, which I think has made a massive difference on my skin. I used to find that if I’d have a night out or a lot to drink my skin would break out and get quite oily. Cutting down on alcohol may be worth a try, especially after Christmas!

Drink lots of water! I go through gallons. I always carry a litre bottle of water with me in my handbag and I’m constantly sipping it. If you are dehydrated it shows in your skin.

Makeup…I wear makeup every day so I cannot talk, however I have been trying to make an effort to remove it as soon as I get in, rather than leaving it on all evening to remove just before bed. If you get in early evening, try to take it off then rather than at bed time. Even an extra few hours without will do wonders for your skin, remember the more you take care of your skin the more flawless and smooth your makeup application will look. Also, NEVER sleep in it!
