Stretch Marks

From the moment I found out I was pregnant I have been slathering bio oil all over my body. I know stretch marks are usually part and parcel of being pregnant and growing a little human inside of you but I think everyone would like to prevent them as much as possible.

Every morning and night I apply two different products to my belly, hips, bum, thighs, boobs and the tops of my arms. First I apply Bio Oil and then leave this to soak in for a few seconds and after that I apply Palmers Cocoa Butter Massage Lotion for Stretch Marks. You can get a huge tube of this for only £2.70 from Wilko.

Keep your eyes open on Groupon and Amazon for deals on multipacks of Bio Oil. It’s so expensive to buy in store, especially for how much you’ll be using. I’ve gone through 4 200ml bottles already and I am only applying more the bigger I get.

Next I cannot stress enough the importance of hydration! Drink your water, especially when pregnant your body needs even more water than it usually does. The more water you drink, the more elasticity your skin will have. The same goes for eating healthy, of course it’s harder to eat healthy when you’re expecting. I’m craving chocolate and sweets all the time..typical! I am allowing myself to have a little but making sure the majority of my main meals consist of proteins and vegetables with some carbs like sweet potatoes or brown rice.

Hopefully this helps, I think the main thing is to keep your skin moisturised. There is also loads more advice out there and loads of lotions and potions you can try so look around, and if you’ve been using anything in particular that you are loving please let me know.
